As-Salaam alaikum,
We often tend to forget the importance of the simple yet powerful Du'a or supplication of Istighfar...that is the saying or recital of 'Astaghfirullah ( I seek forgiveness of Allah).

Some of the virtues and benefits of Istighfar are:--
(1) Istighfar removes anxiety and one's Du'as are answered.
(2) It opens the door of sustenance, mercy and knowledge.
(3) Istighfar helps us to calm ourselves and wipes out variety of worldly worries from our mind and body.

Sayyadi Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam, said:-

"If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a
way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety, and will provide
sustenance for him from where he expects not."
[Abu Dawud].

So, we should include lots of Istighfar, at least 100 times, in our daily Zikr... when we come to remember Allah Ta'ala in the mornings and evenings.
Best Wishes.
